*HOW TO ACHIEVE NATURAL LOOKING FAUX FRECKLES:::
Flawless freckles are one of the hottest trends right now! No makeup-makeup is getting a revamp as we’re getting closer to warm weather. I have always loved the look of natural glowing skin and being able to see some imperfections underneath, I find its much more youthful looking. Finally these thick, full coverage foundations are being pushed out of the way by so many AMAZING brands that are creating lightweight, minimal coverage glowing foundations! These types of foundations are the best to work with when creating a freckled face 🙂
Here are the steps that I used to create natural looking faux freckles…!
-1. Start with a fresh clean face prepped with sheer layers of hydrating skincare such as serums, essences or lightweight moisturizers. One of my favorites is Energie De Vie Liquid Care Moisturizer from Lancome because its super hydrating and is quick to absorb.
-2. Use your fingers or a beauty blender to apply a sheer layer of liquid foundation to the face only where needed (redness, corners of nose, under eyes). I used Bobbi Brown skin foundation mixed with 1-2 drops of NYX custom drops to make a custom shade.
-3. I used 2 different Sephora Collection retractable brow pencils in shades nutmeg brown and midnight brown to lightly dot, twist and speckle all over the face. Concentrating on different sizes, shapes and placement. A true freckled face has some freckling all over… on the eye lids, forehead, cheeks, top of nose and chin.
-4. Next, with a damp beauty blender, I applied a second coat of the same sheer coverage foundation over the entire face including over the freckles and concealed under the eyes in the areas that had slight darkness.
-5. After applying the foundation and concealer, I finished with a light dusting of Makeup Forever HD translucent finishing powder and a little bronze and blush! Lastly, I went through one more time with the brow pencils and emphasized a few more freckles so that some were a bit more noticeable.. AND YOU’RE DONE!
